Men + Leggings, Whoa or No?!

Men + Leggings, Whoa or No?!
Running errands the other day, I decided to take the scenic route and drive along the ocean. There is a bike path that follows the coast line and you can see the cyclists as they ride. One of the riders was all decked out in his yellow and black skin tight biking outfit. He looked fantastic in his gear and it got me thinking... Why do men have to be dressed for exercise to enjoy the feeling of leggings? We see men wearing them when cycling, swimming, (think full body wet suits), dancing, and running. But why do we have to be exercising to enjoy leggings? The fact is, we don't. Men can wear leggings any time they want. It's all about confidence.

Product: Neon Soft Leggings

Leggings feel amazing and it's about time you started enjoying the feeling of wearing them. I think one of the biggest stigmas in our society is worrying about what other people think. I'm in my forties and it's taken me 30 years to realize that 99% of people are so wrapped up in their own lives that they could care less what you're wearing. And the 1%? The heck with them. Why live your life worrying about what people you don't even know think of you?

Product: The Modern Legging

Do leggings make you feel good? Do you love the way the feel? Then wear them. Wear them to the mall, running errands, doing stuff around the house, working on the car, mowing the lawn. Feeling great in what you're wearing makes even the most mundane of tasks just that much more fun. If you're worried about them revealing too much of your boys then throw on a pair of shorts or a long t-shirt.

But PLEASE whatever you do, don't wear them with a headband and leg warmers. That look was terrible even in the 80's.

Hope you have an amazing week trying out leggings!

Thank you everyone for taking the time to comment. Leggings are not just for women anymore!

And Rob, I love wearing leggings but don’t have any pictures of myself in them as I don’t usually take selfies while out and about.

I’m working on a future blog and you just may get a glimpse of what I look like if you really want to see!

Thanks again

Men and leggings? Hell yeah! I alwsys wear athletic leggings to the gym and whenever I’m out running errands. They feel great and I happen to think I look pretty good in them. I stopped worrying about what people think many years ago. I’m not breaking any laws and I wouldn’t cause the most prudish person to blush. I just look like any normal guy who happens to be wearing leggings. I love them and that’s all that matters. Nobody has ever said anything and I doubt they ever will. I look forward to seeing more styles and fabrics in the future.

I have been wearing thigh high stockings for many years. They are very supportive and stylish. A suggestion, to enhance the whole experience of wearing leggings or stockings you should seriously consider shaving your your legs. It adds a wonderful sensation.

Jeff, That is great that you are able to wear leggings in class, you are totally correct that we should not be limited in what we can wear just because perhaps women got to them first! Coincidentally we at Body Aware are making a male dance belt using a double layer of super soft and stretchy fabric. Hoping it will be out in a couple of weeks.

I’m responding to Dan or anyone else who cares to read!

Dan,
Let me first start by saying go for it! I love what you wrote and WE need to get over the thought that leggings are for woman only. They are incredibly comfortable. I’ve been taking barre classes which also is predominantly women for years now. I buy the same leggings they wear in class and I fit right in. I wear them to and from without issue. But I do add one undergarment that I think is a must. I purchased a men’s dancers brief from a local ballet shop. I won’t post the manufacturer info unless I’m told it’s ok on here. The mens dancers brief has several layers of fabric in the front to smooth that area out. And it works and works well. If we were in the right club setting I might want to “print” through. But not for everyday wear or to fitness classes. Just my thoughts. But guys, keep killing it! You all look hot and I know you feel ridiculously comfortable.

Take care,
Jeff
