How did you first get into modeling?
Lol, I don't consider myself a model. Sometimes, people pay me to dance or stand around in my underwear, usually based off of pics they saw on IG. But saying I'm a model makes me think of this meme:
I teach elementary English as a Second Language and tutor middle school girls in math. I endeavor to be a close-up magician or a blimp operator.
Besides BodyAware, What is your dream modeling gig?
Are there any companies that pay you to just eat and read books? If so, please give them my card.
What interests you most about modeling?
I appreciate that I've been able to travel and earn some money to supplement my teacher's salary as a result of doing photo shoots. But I know this is all ephemeral, so I'm just having fun while it lasts.
What and/or who inspires you most as a model?
I'm inspired by actual models that bring different aesthetics to the table, because of their body types or gender expression or disabilities or visible skin differences (e.g. vitiligo, scarring, etc.); personally, I think I'm a pretty boring white, cis, typically abled dude compared to these genuine models who complicate and challenge viewers' archetypes of beauty.
Do you think there is a stigma against men wearing "skimpy" underwear? If so, why do you think the stigma is there?
I think there are bullshit binaries around gender and gender expression (among other things) that tell people to stay in specific lanes with what they wear and how they present, underwear included. We've all been conditioned by this anti-queer world to think that people "should" look, act, and be a certain way. These dichotomies are imaginary and dumb, and people who try to reinforce them are like low-rent Aunt Lydias from The Handmaid's Tale. Can you imagine a more boring, less progressive world than one in which people always acted, dressed, and lived the way some nonsense paradigm taught them they should?
How do you prepare for a photoshoot?
Get drunk. Kidding. Usually.
Do you manscape?
As little as possible. Sometimes I trim my belly and bathing suit area if it gets unruly.
How many times a week do you work out and what’s your favorite routine?
I go to the gym 5-6 times a week, and I get in about an hour of thumb exercises scrolling through my phone plus like 30 minutes of lifting
What is your favorite style of underwear?
For everyday use? Boxer briefs. If I'm trying to look sexy? Anything that covers my face.
What do you like about BodyAware?
Comfort. My nether regions are SENSITIVE, mama, so I need something downy and soft cradling my non-baby maker. Come through, polyblend fabrics!
What’s your favorite pair of BodyAware underwear?
Anything lace. Anything chiffon. Femme queen realness ALL DAY.
If you were stranded on a deserted island, who would you be stranded with and with what three items?
My boyfriend, and probably a life raft, flare gun, and stockpile of non-perishable food and potable water. That just makes sense, right? Or am I taking this question too literally?
A moment where you felt the most proud?
My students are incredible, and I've had too many moments where I've been proud of them to count. But overall, their ability to maintain happiness, pride, and self-worth in a country and under a president that increasingly tries to make people of color, immigrants, refugees, and Muslims feel unworthy, unwelcome, and othered make me deeply proud. I believe in them more than anything.
Where can we find you on the web? Besides police crime reports, you mean?
