Finding Comfort in Trying Times

Finding Comfort in Trying Times

I know all we hear about these days is the Coronavirus.  And all of us have been affected in pretty profound ways, whether with a loved one falling sick or big changes in our work and social lives.  Every day on social media or in my email, I see stories about businesses in my local community struggling (and it’s only been a couple of weeks!), laying-off employees, and wondering if they can survive a national lockdown.

I try to keep a regular yoga and meditation practice going, so my inbox is also full of ideas for self-care.  And this seems more important to me than ever. It can be trying to stay at home – whether you are alone or with the same people over and over again – and frightening to read the news.  So I ask now, how can we take good care of ourselves during these unprecedented, challenging times?

I’ve come up with a few things that are really helping me – good books, my favorite people, a glass of wine, unplugging from the news, finding beauty (spring is coming!) and feeling comfortable.  When I am home all day, I like to wear only my underwear, and since I am working from home that’s about all I am wearing these days (and I can tell you with certainty, the lady in my life loves that I am walking around in my undies all day!).  I do think it is important to do things every day that make you feel comfortable and good about yourself, these are challenging days and finding solace and beauty matter.

When I received that email from Body Aware a couple of weeks ago stating that they would do all in their power to make sure their packages stay clean and sanitary (though I personally wipe down everything that comes into my house) and that they will be donating 5% of their profits to the American Red Cross to help fight this virus, I felt reassured.  We are a community and we are all trying to get through this together. And speaking for myself, finding moments of comfort and beauty matter now more than ever, and good underwear can help me find both of these things.

What has made you feel more comfortable as you go about your day? Please let us know below!

Signing off for now!

COVID19 sucks, we can all agree on that. As humans, we are wired to be with other people, to communicate, hug and gather. These last 4 months has been trying and we are all getting by as best we can. As for me, I found Body Aware to be a nice escapism from the day to day news which is always bad. I creatively look for opportunities to branch out in new and mischievous ways. For instance, I wear my Body Aware satin Iridescent Tanga on Zoom Calls. Nothing says all business on top and party down below like working in a dress shirt and satin “manties”! The bedroom has also gotten a little more creative as we alternate “stripping” for each other. So much fun to take it off slowly and get down to you Body Aware lace thong! Body Aware has helped keep spirits up in these unprecedented times!

Beautifully said. I, too, am in favor of wearing nice, Bodywear underwear at home. I think that many have the wrong ideas about mens apparel. Too bad for them! Do your thing.

I like the chance to wear my leggings around the house.
